The first Thursday of September the Oregon Symphony played at Tom McCall Waterfront park and after the 1812 Overture Finale sent off fireworks on the river. Coming back toward the city after a post-work hike in the Gorge, I was able to catch the end of the show and get set up to take firework shots. Overall, I am very happy with my first serious attempt at photographing fireworks (fourth of July doesn’t really count b/c it was a hindsight). It would have been a little nicer if there had been a slight breeze to get rid of more of the smoke from the earlier shots and I did forget my quick release timer so I was stuck with fixed shutter speeds, but the outcomes were still pretty good π
Well done!

Wow! Really cool shots. Great composition, and for me the smoke is good too.

Incredible job! π I’ve tried so many times to nail firework shots, but they still elude me.
