On my drive from Lake Almanor (just south of Mt. Lassen in Northern CA) I took the 89 up toward Mt. Shasta in order to jump on the I-5 North without backtracking south more. As I was driving I saw signs for a Burney Falls State Park and decided to pull over and see the waterfall. It is, so far, my favorite random road trip stop that I have ever made. If you are ever in that area I would definitely advise you to stop by. It is less than a half mile round trip and so gorgeous 🙂
Wow, that’s amazing! I could sit there all day and watch that. I can imagine the sights, sounds and smaells now.

I agree with Simon! I would sit all day and try to count them all.

What a cool place. The next time I’m in California I would like to take a road trip from Orange County up to BurneyFalls ~ even though it’s about 700 miles one way….

That’s a long drive… you might want to make some stops along the way, but if you do Yosemite could potentially be on the way depending on how you plan. Or you could just do the PCH up, which would be beautiful but just long as hell
